Castleford Tigers coach Daryl Powell the last three tough games of the regular season will ultimately show whether his side are good enough at having a crack at making the Grand Final this year.

The Tigers shut out Huddersfield 24-0 on the road today to keep the pace with Salford who are currently in fifth spot, but face St Helens, Hull and Wigan in the run in to the play offs.

Though ultimately a big challenge, Powell insisted it was a great opportunity for his players to prove they are worthy of not only making the top-five but shaking up the competition at the business end of the season.

“It is set up perfectly for us to see if we are good enough or not,” he said.

“And, if we are good enough, I think we will have a fair chance of having a dig at it.

“They are all tough games and, if we are going to be in the top-five, we are going to be good enough to be there. If we are good enough to be there we will be hardened because of the games we’ve played.”
