Leigh Centurions have confirmed the signing of Scotland international Ben Hellewell from London Broncos for the 2020 Betfred Championship season.
Hellewell made 12 appearances for Sheffield Eagles last season while on dual registration from London Broncos, for who he played three times in 2019.
The 27-year-old scored seven tries while at the Eagles and was a key player as the club reached the final of the AB Sundecks 1895 Cup.
Hellewell, who has represented Scotland 14 times, said: “I love working with John – he’s a good coach and a good people person. I know from being involved at Scotland that he’s all about the lads and a good man manager.
“I’m joining a club that will have no excuses for not doing well next season. They are building a really competitive squad that is good enough to really challenge for promotion.
“I know a lot of the players there and I know there is a good culture at the club. They have a passionate fanbase and I am looking forward to getting stuck in.
“It was a former Leigh player Greg Richards that recommended I come here and I’m especially looking forward to linking up with the likes of Tom Spencer who I played with at London last season.”
