Swinton Lions have signed former Leigh Centurions player Mitch Cox on a one-year deal ahead of the 2020 Betfred Championship season.
The 25-year-old joined the Centurions in 2018 and managed to score six tries in 11 appearances this season.
Cox joined the rest of the Swinton squad for the start of pre-season training, and he already feels at home with the Lions.
He told the club website: “I’m buzzing to have signed for Swinton. When the opportunity came around it was a no brainer. A few of my close mates and lads who I’ve played with before who already play at the club couldn’t speak more highly about the club and the people involved.
“I’m also looking forward to playing under Stuart (Littler) and Allan (Coleman), who have both coached me before, and I know will get the best out of me as a player.
“It’s a great opportunity for me and I’m ready to get stuck into pre-season and meet all the people down at the club. Swinton showcased what the club is capable of last season and what the club stands for and I’m glad that I can be a part of that in 2020.”
