Wigan’s Dom Manfredi has offered an apology to the club’s supporters following the recent announcement that he’ll be out for the rest of the season.
Manfredi has suffered a recurrence of the ACL injury that previously scuppered his 2018 campaign and will undergo surgery to correct the issue.
In a Tweet, Manfredi said: “Can’t thank you all enough for the messages of support, I’m overwhelmed.
“I want to apologise to Wigan Warriors and the fans that I can’t play any further part this season.
“I’m devastated, although I’m lucky to have such a good family, friends and club backing me.
“My biggest challenge yet is in front of me and I’m going to put everything into getting back to being the player I know I can be.
“Thanks again for the support.”
