Mason returns for second spell at Leigh

Leigh Centurions have announced that forward Nathan Mason will be returning to the club for a second spell.

The 26-year-old signed on loan at Leigh in the 2018 season while he was at Huddersfield – making 22 appearances and scoring six tries.

He left the Giants in 2019 to join London Broncos, he managed to play 16 times for the then Super League outfit, while he also played eight times on dual registration at Sheffield Eagles.

Mason said: “It’s good to be back and see some old faces. I’m looking forward to getting back at it because I really enjoyed my time here when I was on loan from Huddersfield.

“I spent last season with London but played a lot at Sheffield on dual registration and I met a lot of good people at both those clubs. I made some good memories. I was lucky to get the chance of playing in the AB Sundecks 1895 Cup Final with Sheffield which was a great experience.

“But because of issues with family I wanted to move back up north and the chance arose to come here.

“The Betfred Championship is going to be a good comp and Leigh will be looking to be up there. There are some great teams in the league and we will have to be on the money week-in, week-out. We can’t afford to have any off days because it’s that competitive.”

This news come on the back of the announcements that the Centurions have signed Danny Addy and Ben Hellewell, as well as re-signing Iain Thornley.
