Toronto Wolfpack have announced who has taken over as chairman and interim CEO of the club following the departure of David Argyle.

Argyle stood himself down from both roles after he was caught up in a racism scandal earlier this year, and he has now been replaced by former Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment executive Bob Hunter.

Hunter brings 22 years experience in sporting management to the Wolfpack and couldn’t wait to get started with such an exciting expansionist club.

“It’s a great opportunity to bring some of that 22 years of experience to a reasonably new organisation. Even with the success they’ve had to date,” he said.

“I’ve been really, really pleasantly surprised at the sophistication of the business and look at it as a great opportunity to try and help that team grow to a new level.

“Needless to say we’ve got a great team … the playoffs (are) ahead of us, potential promotion ahead of us,” he said. “A great time to join.”
