Former Hull KR coach Tim Sheens is considering an offer from a club in Australia.

Sheens has been out of work since parting company with the Robins earlier this season, but he is wanted by Newcastle as part of their new coaching staff.

The Knights recently appointed Adam O’Brien as head coach and CEO Philip Gardner has confirmed they’ve sounded out Sheens to assist him.

Gardner told the Sydney Morning Herald’s Adrian Proszenko: “We rang Tim Sheens yesterday.”

“He still has contractual obligations in England. He would be happy to have a conversation with us. That will be a decision of the head coach.”
