New Zealand Warriors have announced the release of prop forward Chris Satae.
The Warriors say the 26-year-old prop is set to take up a contract in Super League with immediate effect.
It is understood that he will link with Hull FC for the remainder of the season as part of a long-term deal.
Football manager Brian Smith said: “We’ve reluctantly agreed to Chris’ request for an early release.
“He was contracted until 2021 but he has received an opportunity in England for the rest of this season and then another four years.
“It gives Chris and his family tremendous security and we wouldn’t want to stand in his way.
“He has been really impressive for our Canterbury Cup side but has had limited chances to play for the NRL side due to the competition for places.
“We’re really happy for Chris, we thank him for everything he has done for the club and we wish him all the best for the future.”
Satae has featured predominantly for the Warriors’ Canterbury Cup side in 2019.
