Parcell and Lunt allowed to face old clubs as part of loan deal

Hull KR and Leeds Rhinos have agreed that Matt Parcell and Shaun Lunt will be eligible to play in this Friday’s big clash, which pits the two dummy halves against their former clubs.

Parcell and Lunt swapped clubs on a deal until the end of the season two weeks ago, with the Australian hooker turning in a man of the match performance in the Hull derby on debut.

An injury has prevented Lunt from making his second Rhinos debut, but if fit he will be available to line up against Parcell against his former club as both sides look to stave off the threat of relegation, with Smith thought was the right decision based on previous experiences.

“That is often down to the owners and I’ve had owners who haven’t wanted a player to play against their old club,” he said.
