Castleford Tigers head coach Daryl Powell has given his thoughts on the current speculation linking injured half back Luke Gale with a move to Leeds next season.
The former Rhinos academy half back hasn’t played at all this year since tearing his achilles in pre-season, with rumours now suggesting he is set to leave the Jungle as Leeds look to strengthen their half back stocks.
However, Powell confidently expects Gale to be at the Tigers in 2020 and has no reason to believe otherwise.
“People are going to throw different things around,” he said to Pontefract & Castleford Express.
“Obviously he’s not playing, Leeds are a team that’s looking for a half-back – that’s the way it is, people like rumours.
“Especially coming to the end of the year things get spoken about and once they are out there people keep batting them around like a game of tennis, but he is not even playing for us this year.
“We are just cracking on with what we are doing and we’ll focus on the future when it comes around.”
