Castleford coach Daryl Powell hailed the display of half-back Jake Trueman as “world class” following tonight’s win over Hull.

Trueman scored a hat-trick and played a starring role as the Tigers emerged comfortable winners against the Black and Whites.

Powell told Sky Sports’ Jenna Brooks: “The boys call him world class and I think he is. He’s a fantastic player.

“Some of the things he does are real old school and he could have probably played with me in the 80s.

“He’s such an unassuming young kid, but he’s strong and he has a cheekiness about his game.

“He has all the skills and a big future ahead of him.”
