Castleford Tigers coach Daryl Powell said he wants his players to enjoy themselves out on the field more after admitting they looked nervous throughout their win over Lon yesterday.

The Tigers eventually downed Super League’s bottom side 20-6 on Saturday, but Powell was left frustrated by what he called a generally slow game and was keen to see his players play with a bit more freedom as the business end of the season approaches.

“We looked a little bit nervous and it was tight (in the first half). They were defending all right and we weren’t playing great. The game was really slow and we just couldn’t quite get ourselves going,” he said.

“I just said to the players we need to relax and find a way of enjoying ourselves on the field because we are certainly not at the moment and we’ve got to try to make that happen.”
