Lee Radford admits he has to shoulder much of the blame following tonight’s defeat to Castleford.
The 44-12 reverse at The Jungle means Hull must beat St Helens in the final week and hope other results go their way if they are to make the play-offs.
Radford told Sky Sports’ Jenna Brooks: “Some of the efforts tonight were just not good enough.
“Over the last few weeks we’ve been horrendous and the individual form has not been where it needs to be.
“As a team we looked bang average tonight and we deserve to be outside of the play-offs.
He added: “I have to take the blame as head coach.
“It wasn’t good enough and we’ve got plenty of stuff to fix up, and to say it’s frustrating is an understatement.
“Our fate is not in our hands now. We have to get a result and hope others go our way.”
