Hull KR have announced the capture of Ryan Brierley from Super League rivals Toronto.

Joining Ellis in making the move to Craven Park is Toronto Wolfpack’s Ryan Brierley, who joins Rovers on a one year deal.

Brierley struggled for consistent game time in Canada last season and ended the 2019 campaign on loan with Leigh, but will now link up with Tony Smith’s men with the intention of propelling the club up the table next year.

“There will be plenty of competition in the pivots, I am now up to five potential half-backs who will have to fight hard to get the position and then stay there,” Smith told the club website.

“That is what we want, it keeps people on their toes, keeps them accountable and they have to keep producing or else we will find a different combination from within. Ryan is very aware of that fact and he wants to fight hard for the team.”
