St Helens CEO Mike Rush has shed light on the club’s next steps in its appointment of a new coach.
The departure of Justin Holbrook to Gold Coast Titans at the end of the season was confirmed earlier this week.
Rush indicated that the club would consider candidates from the UK and Australia.
He told The Mirror’s Gareth Walker: “If that person is abroad then so be it – fundamentally we just want the right person for the job.
“We’ve got a very open mind and the club knows how to conduct its business.
“Eamonn McManus has been chairman for 20 years and I’ve been at the club for the same amount of time. We know the correct processes to go through.”
