St Helens legend James Graham admits playing for Saints helped ‘shape his life’ after he was handed his Heritage Number certificate.

Fellow legend, Paul Wellens, presented his former team-mate and good friend with his certificate with Heritage Number #1130.

Graham, who made his debut for Saints back in 2003 against Castleford, represented the club on 225 occasions – scoring 53 tries.

During his time at St Helens, Graham managed to win the Super League title once, the Challenge Cup four times, the League Leaders Shield four times and the World Club Challenge once.

He told the club website: “It’s a proud moment for me, as I enjoyed my time at Saints so much.

“As I’ve got older, I really appreciate what playing for the Saints has meant to me and how much it shaped my life.”

Graham left the Saints at the end of the 2011 Super League campaign to join NRL side Canterbury Bulldogs. He stayed with the Doggies until the end of 2017 before moving to St George Illawarra Dragons for the start of the 2018 season.
