Leeds Rhinos Director of Rugby Kevin Sinfield has completed a marathon on his own in an effort to raise money for Rob Burrow, completing the 26.2 mile run in a personal best time.

Burrow was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease earlier this year prompting the rugby league community to come together in support of one of the modern day greats of the game.

His former teammate Sinfield was due to run the Manchester marathon, but with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic leading to all major sporting events being cancelled, the former Rhinos captain ran a special route solo, raising over £5,000 for the MND Association.

You can read the full details of the run and a way to donate to the cause on the Leeds Rhinos website.
