Hull KR coach Tony Smith has criticised Joel Tomkins and Danny McGuire for spending too much time talking to referee Chris Kendall.

Smith was speaking after seeing McGuire’s one-point hand the Robins a crucial golden-point victory against Castleford.

He told reporters after the game: “Their focus was in the wrong area; too much time spent talking with the referee.

“I let them know they needed to stop it or they could come and spend some more time talking with me, rather than him.”
