New Zealand head coach Michael Maguire has revealed he wants Kiwi legend Stacey Jones to replace him once his time is up.
Australian Maguire, who is preparing his team for Saturday’s second Test against Great Britain in Christchurch, has been in charge of the Kiwis for 18 months believes that his assistant Jones is the right man to take the national team forward in the future.
Maguire told TVNZ: “I’d like to see him take my job. I think at some stage, not too soon because it’s such an enjoyable position to be able to hold, but I think at some stage.”
When asked about the possibility of taking over as New Zealand coach in the future, Jones said: “My philosophy at the moment is make sure that I support the head coach as much as I can, be loyal to him.”
