Betfred Super League took to social media this afternoon to invite fans to name their teams for an England vs Exiles match, and named their own line ups, sparking excitement that the mid-season clash may be set to return.

The concept of England facing players of international origin playing in Super League was first played in 2011 with three more fixtures following it before the concept was scrapped at the end of the 2013 season.

Catalans head coach Steve McNamara recently told totalrl.com he would like to see a return of the Exiles, with a flurry of huge names coming to Super League to provide the perfect mid-season Test for Wayne Bennett’s England squad.
