New Hull FC signing Adam Swift wants to help the club address an apparent lack of togetherness that affected their form in 2019.

Former St Helens winger Swift has joined up with his new team-mates for pre-season training and he says that building cohesion between the players will be a priority.

He said: “One of the big things at St Helens was the togetherness of the squad and there was a great social group.

“When I met with Lee [Radford] and the chairman [Adam Pearson], they discussed how Hull lacked a bit of that togetherness towards the end of last season.

“So the start of pre-season was a good chance to turn the page and regroup again, coming back stronger than before.

“Obviously there are plenty of new faces around the place, myself included, and I think that freshness can be all a squad needs to grow togetherness.

“Everyone is training with a smile on their faces at the moment, so we must be doing something right in the first couple of weeks of pre-season.

“That sort of team morale can help us go a long way.”
