A team-mate of Liam Watts has criticised the decision to leave him out of the Great Britain squad for the upcoming tour down under.

Watts is rated by many as one of Super League’s outstanding front-rowers, but he has been left off Wayne Bennett’s final Lions list.

And Cas full-back Peter Mata’utia has labelled the decision to leave him out as “ridiculous”.

He said: “Sitting on the fence about buying a Great Britain jersey now because big Jud (Watts) isn’t in, which is ridiculous.

“But I do have to support my boys Jake Trueman and Gareth Widdop.”
