Gold Coast Titans have confirmed they have signed second-row forward Tino Fa’asuamaleaui from Melbourne Storm from 2021.

The 19-year-old has signed a three-year deal with Justin Holbrook’s side and will remain at the club until at least the end of the 2023 campaign.

Fa’asuamaleaui was born in Orange, NSW, before moving to play his junior rugby league for the Gympie Devils in Queensland. He then made the Queensland under-16s and was then signed by the Melbourne Storm, playing for their feeder-side Sunshine Coast Falcons.

In 2018, he switched to play for Easts Tigers and was selected in the under-18s Queensland side, and then played in the Queensland under-20s, before playing in the Junior Kangaroos side at the end of the season.

He made his NRL debut in Round 16 of season 2019 for the Storm against St George Illawarra Dragons, playing five games to finish the year.

Coach Holbrook is excited to have Tino join the club from 2021. He told the club website: “Tino has already proven to be one of the most promising young players in the game and we’re excited to have him joining the Titans.

“His signing is a huge win for the club considering the high-demand and interest there was in Tino from a number of NRL clubs.

“We have a great crop of local talent here and off the back of the re-signing of AJ Brimson, Moeaki Fotuaika and Phil Sami, Tino is another one of those young players that we can look forward to seeing in action in the future.”
