Sam Tomkins has alleged that his bank cards were stolen by Spanish police after he was pulled over.

Tomkins is preparing for his second season with Catalans Dragons and will be joined by his brother, Joel, in 2020.

But the former Wigan and New Zealand Warrior has endured an unpleasant experience away from the club, it appears.

He explained: “Shit start to the day – got pulled over by the Spanish police while crossing the border and asked to get out my car while they searched it.

“Took them ten minutes then said I was fine to leave.

“Then I get to the next toll and realise they’d gone through my wallet and stolen all my English and French bank cards, the scruffy shites.”
