Toulouse have informed Dewsbury that they will not travel to fulfil Sunday’s fixture at the Rams’ Tetley’s Stadium.
Dewsbury had been set to welcome Sylvain Houles’ side this weekend, but RL NEWS understands officials from the French club contacted Dewsbury to inform them that the players had been told not to return to training this morning.
This has resulted in the Rams announcing the postponement of the fixture.
In a statement, the Rams said: “Dewsbury Rams can announce that our home game against Toulouse has been postponed next Sunday.
“Toulouse have taken the decision to postpone their visit to the Rams until the situation regarding Covid 19 improves to such an extent that travel is considered safe with little risk of either contracting the disease or passing it on to others.
“The game will be rescheduled later on in this season.”
The news follows Remi Casty’s decision to remove himself from the club’s training environment as France and the rest of Europe battle to contain Coronavirus.
