Monday’s League Express has linked Wakefield with a move for a Halifax forward.

Reporter Matt Shaw claims Trinity are eager to sign Adam Tangata, who is with ‘Fax for a second spell after returning to the club following Widnes’s administration issues earlier this year.

Shaw writes: “League Express understands Trinity came close to signing two players currently playing in the Championship last week, only for the deals to collapse at the 11th hour.

“It’s thought Wakefield attempted to sign experienced Widnes forward Harrison Hansen, but the deal didn’t come off due to Widnes’s involvement in the 1895 Cup Final later this month.”

Shaw adds that Wakefield remain keen on signing Tangata this year.

Trinity boss Christ Chester has gone on record to suggest he is eager to bolster his squad before the end of the season.
