London boss Danny Ward says the team will come back stronger following tonight’s defeat to Wakefield that condemned the Broncos to relegation.

Ward hailed his players’ efforts throughout the season and noted their improvement as the campaign progressed.

He told Sky Sports’ Jenna Brooks: “I couldn’t be prouder.

“We’ve been fantastic when we’ve wanted to be, but Wakefield dominated us tonight and won the field position battle.

“We’ve been doing it tough with lads who’ve come up from the Championship.

“About 80% of the squad were Championship players last year and they’ve done themselves proud.

“Ultimately, we weren’t good enough and that’s a shame for the boys.

“It’s a bit of adversity and a blip in the road, but we’ll come back stronger.

Ward added: “I’ve seen improvements all year.

“The start of the year was a struggle, but we’ve got better and better every week and I’ve seen improvements in the guys as players and as people.

“It’s been outstanding to work with them.

“They’ve worked hard and rolled their sleeves up.

“I’m disappointed not to stay up, but I’m proud of their efforts.”
