Salford Red Devils head coach Ian Watson said he was made up for his players after they stunned Wigan on the own patch to reach the Old Trafford.
Salford made history, qualifying for their first ever Super League Grand Final with a comprehensive 28-4 win at the DW Stadium.
The Red Devils fairy tale rolls on to the Theatre of Dreams with a winner takes all battle with St Helens after proving far too strong for the Cherry and Whites from minute one and Watson was left amazed after the game.
“It’s a massive achievement for us after everything we’ve been through over the last few years,” he told reporters.
“We’ve got some guys who’ve been at some big clubs and for them to get this chance with this club is great.
“I’m made up for them. A lot of guys have been moved on and people thought they were done but they deserve everything they’ve got after how they’ve played this year.
“We’ve got one more game against Saints and we need to go and turn it on. It’s amazing, I couldn’t be prouder of the group,” he added.
