Castleford assistant coach Danny Orr believes the Tigers can help get Danny Richardson’s career back on the right track.

“A good player, kind of stuck in his career when he came to us, but he’s kicked on to become an international half back, not just through us but through his own hard work as well.

“Jake Trueman has developed a lot, he’s come through at Bradford and then kicked on in our system and he’s become an international half back, so hopefully we can add Danny to that list.”

Orr added that Richardson was the Tigers’ number one target following Gale’s departure.

He added: “We need to strengthen in this position and of the list we put together of potential targets Danny was at the top of the list and we managed to get him, which is great.”
