‘World Rugby’ provoke angry reaction after pinching League video

The official Twitter account of World Rugby – formerly the International Rugby [Union] Board – has provoked controversy after Retweeting a video featuring Salford player Rhys Williams.
The video, which went viral earlier this week due to Williams’ supposed visual similarities to Liverpool footballer Mo Salah, was shared by the account alongside a caption tagging the footballer that suggested he could play in the 2023 Rugby Union World Cup.
Dozens of supporters have responded by pointing out that Welsh international Williams is far more likely to play for the Dragons in next year’s Rugby League World Cup, while the official World Cup and Super League accounts have also weighed in:
